My Salsa Makeup Adventures – Christmas Salsa Party

This past weekend we had our Christmas salsa party at (my salsa school) Que Pasa. True to the spirit of this time of year, it was a charity party, and all proceeds went to the project to send some kids from Khayelitsha Cape Town to perform at the Los Angeles Salsa Festival in May 2013

Obviously the dress code/theme was red & white and I went with a lacey, flared white skirt, a red off-the-shoulder top and a little Christmas hat.

For my makeup, I used my Sephora Jumbo Liner (red wine colour) to draw a thickish line on my top eyelid, just above my lashes, and set it with a red pigment. I then did another line just above that, with a silver liquid eyeliner, and set it with a shimmery silver/white eyeshadow. Lastly I did a very thin black liquid line, as close to my lashes as possible. Rounding the look off with mascara, a red lip stain and a red-ish blush.

Here are some of the makeup products that I used:

Sephora Jumbo eyeliner crayon 12hr wear – no15 purple

A red shimmery pigment from Ralo cosmetics

Catrice Cosmetics Metallic liquid liner – C02 Miracle Heaven

The highlighter in the Glam’eyes quad eyeshadow palette by Rimmel London

Rimmel London Professional Liquid Eyeliner – 001 Ebony Black

Red lip tint from Ralo Cosmetics

With my new found passion for nail art, I also had to have some Christmas themed digits:

I did a full gel polish mani with my SensatioNail starter kit (red) & then drew a line with a shimmery polish around the outside border of my nails. Thirdly I sponged on a white polish on the tips of my nails, and used that to stick on some white / silver glitter, almost like the outside edges of show encrusted windows 😉  Rounding it all off with 2 coats of nail art sealing top coat.

These were the polishes I used:

SensationNail Invincible Gel Polish by Nailene – Scarlet Red

essence nail art freestyle & tip painter – 12 metallic champagne

Pearl White by Top Shine

Amazing Shine SparklingGlitter – 623 Diamond Love

essence nail art sealing top coat

Hope you all enjoyed another of my makeup salsa adventures – till next time… X
